A portion of the proceeds benefits Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Throughout history women have been deemed the weaker sex, and that could not be further from the truth. Though some may lack the physical strength of their male counterparts, the strength inside of them is immeasurable. They have triumphed over hardships placed on them with babies on their hips and smiles on their faces. They have climbed the ranks, breaking the glass ceiling to become CEOs and leaders, workers toiling in the trenches wearing construction boots and hard hats, marching shoulder to shoulder with fellows in arms to protect the country. Through Machisma, Covington illustrates the dichotomy of women, exposing the beauty that lies not only in the feminine, but also in the masculine.

An advocate for sexual and domestic violence survivors such as herself, Nina Covington, has committed to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of all work from the exhibit to the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Nina Covington has been modeling for the past 5 years for both commercial and portrait photographers. Her experience in front of the lens inspired her to pick up the camera, moving behind the scenes to bring her visions to life. Covington’s works have previously been exhibited at the Corvidae Collective gallery, No Egrets gallery, and various pop up art shows.
